How to Write Articles for Submission

Before we even start writing articles for submission to ezine directories, bear in mind  that as far as internet marketing is concerned we write because that is part of the business. We are not writing for the sake of writing or because we love to write!

how to write articlesIt’s a bonus if you happened to be a great writer and love to write, but that’s another story. As internet marketers, we write articles for submission to ezines to get our websites indexed by search engines so that web surfers may be able to find us. If you submit your articles to ezines, and people like your article, they may CLICK the link(s) that you put in your resource box. And when they click that, they will go to your website and see what you have to offer!

So it’s important to have something to offer in your websites. It could be :-

  • offer to opt in for your free weekly newsletter
  • download free ebooks / reports
  • visit  affiliate links site that you’re promoting

It’s pays to focus on these when writing your articles for submission. You wouldn’t want your visitors to click back button because they can’t find anything interesting to make them want to stay on your webpage.

So How To Write Articles that editors Will Love ?

It’s important to give Editors of ezines what they want otherwise they won’t get your articles published!. If they don’t like what you wrote then you can’t do much but to have your articles re-written and re-submitted again.

So how to write articles for submission that editors will love? Well, you may follow the tips below.

  1. Submit “original content” articles (preferably 500-700 words long). Although 500-700 word articles are optimal, some ezines directories may also accept articles between 400-1500 words.
  2. Use your keywords in your titles and body content (use your keywords at least once in each 80-100 words) as well as in your “article summary” section. Doing these will help improve your chances of your article being found. So it’s worth to plan ahead on how to make your articles keyword -rich.
  3. No mention of “By: Author Name” in the title (you get this down later in your Resource Box). It should be about 3-6 lines long and should be written in the third person as they look more professional and bring more traffic to your site(s). You can also put your affiliate links in the resource box as most Article Directories will NOT allow you to include any direct Affiliate Links in the articles.
  4. Don’t write your articles like sales letters with all those sales pitch or with excessive self-promotion.
  5. Make sure your article is interesting and informative. Informative articles are well received and that include strategies, how-to’s,tips, case-studies, ideas, opinions, reviews, tricks and commentaries. Normally readers will ask “What’s in it for me?” and ”will this benefit me?’ and are more responsive to this kind of articles.
  6. Format your article to 60 characters in width and use a text editor to get rid of all word processor’s formatting
  7. Let your text wrap naturally. Use the [Enter] key only after you’ve completed a paragraph. Leave an empty line between paragraphs.
  8. Your articles must not contain ‘illegal or immoral’ information or have elements that promote hate or violence
  9. Don’t submit the same article twice to the same directory but you may do so only after making minor “tweaks” to them
  10. It would be better for the first letter of the words in the title to be in capital except for minor words eg ‘and’, ‘is’, etc
  11. Titles are not expected to have quotes around them so avoid using them.
  12. Ttiles should not have any punctuation marks including period and especially double exclamation marks!!
  13. Don’t use any HTML coding in your Title
  14. Author name must be in full (First and Last Name or First Initial, Last Name) although some directories allow the use of pen names. Don’t include any title (i.e. Dr., MD, PhD, etc.) with your name
  15. Generally you can have up to three (3) live links in your article body but these should be “resource” links and not link to your own sites
  16. Your articles should be listed in the proper category and or sub-category. This makes it easier for Ezine Publishers and Webmasters to find your articles.

Try them. Your have higher chances of getting your articles widely distributed and bring endless traffics to your site(s).

Unsubscribe Me Please !

More and more people realize that they can make massive fortune by becoming a netpreneur. Just look at any sales pages with all the $$$ that can make your head spin. When I just started, it surprised me at how these people can be so kind enough to let us all share their little ‘secret’ on how they made their fortune, because this doesn’t happened in an offline business. Unless you are into network marketing where your success is determined by the sheer number of ‘downlines’ or people you signed up into your network, there is no economic reason why you should share your ‘secret’ on how you make money. Well, that was what I thought then.

After reading hundreds of sales pages on the internet, I quickly recognized what offers true value and what does not and I gradually become ‘immuned’ to the $$$ that it’s no longer makes my heart skip a beat but to scroll down to see how much it would cost.

Remember once people keep bombarding you with highly hyped sales pages, it’s not long before you learn to look beyond the $$$$. I bought some ‘cheap’ ebooks less than $10 and their content are remarkably higher in value. I also bought some pricey ones – few hundred dollars and only add very little to what I already know.

I respected some savvy internet marketers who went all out to put together online interviews with other successful internet marketers thus offering truly valuable information. These are the real ‘GURU’ and they are far more likely to attract and keep new customers.

We already have too many ‘scams’ out there so let’s just be honest to ourselves and our customers. There’s no point to have opt-in  when at the end of the month your inbox is full with emails from people who want to Unsubscribe from your List.

My inbox once filled with the following and I have no other option but to click ‘unsubscribe’.

1. I keep getting 2 identical emails from the same seller trying to sell the the same product and the second email came in ‘after’ I purchased the product!!

2. I got an email sounding full of excitement about a new product or service – and later that day I got 3 more of the same emails (with the exact cut and paste version). It must be from other marketers who are affiliates for the same product.

3. I also purchased an e-book full of affiliate links or links to an up-sell. It’s obvious that this ebook should be regarded as a promotional item and should be given FREE.

4. The other ‘turned-off’ thing is when the link in the ebook brought me into a webpage with MP3 streaming like nobody’s business.

5. I hate to admit this but I was coaxed into purchasing a supposedly life changing ‘Internet home course’ and all I got was photocopies of powerpoint summary presentation with a couple of useless audio CDs ( it adds nothing to my current knowledge). The seller even emailed me asking whether I have started the home course!

In the end all I can say is ‘UNSUBSCRIBE ME PLEASE’………….

Ways for Newbie to become a Home Netpreneur with Minimum Effort

If you’ve  just started to becoming a Home Netpreneur you can begin with articles writing. You may have heard that the BUM marketing technique (also know as Article Marketing) is about writing and producing articles on your niche topic and then post them to article directories.

An excellent site is www.directoryofezines.com (DOE) . This site is very useful for all serious internet marketers. They will assist you in your article writing submissions to major ezines sites. Your articles will get noticed by major search engines like Google or Yahoo, which then scoop these articles resulting in search results related to your keyword choice.

Basically, the secret to BUM marketing dwells in the keywords, therefore you need to discover keywords or keyword phrases that a high number of individuals are seeking on search engines which have modest competition or a low number of pages in the search results.

These days, everybody has a blog. Even a 9 year old has one. So, if you want to be a successful home netpreneur, and want to have a little share of the big cakes that everybody’s having in the web, you had better get a blog or set up your own website. Go over to wordpress.com or blogger.com and get yourself a free blog.

So how to be a home netpreneur with minimum effort. Well, first choose what products you want to promote (to be affiliated to). Go to clickbank.com and get your affiliate link. Choose your promo e-mails with the most catchy subject line (provided in the affiliate page) or if you are good at copy writing then maybe you can come up with your own catchy title of your promo email lines. This will make or break your e-mail crusade.

The main idea is to get the reader to open the e-mail no matter what. Essentially that’s done with a thrilling subject line. If you can seize your prospect’s attention by the “you-know-what” and get them to open your e-mail immediately, you’ve got your foot in the door. It has to strike them like nothing else…virtually. Your subject line has to be better than the other’s in your prospects inbox for that day.
